I understand your concern. But this is precisely the point. Individual liberties are compromised in the name of (let's face it) an abstract statistical risk that remains obscure. Individuals are governed in the name of the "population", but this idea of the health of a population is an abstract concept. We have yet to understand whether it is the Coronavirus that is overtaxing the medical infrastructure and killing millions, or an army of hypochondriacs. "They" are a specific demographic, a segment of the population that has always been vulnerable both to Covid and Influenza (where was the WHO then?). Sharing disease is a form of solidarity. We have yet to understand the real, that is, political and economic (as opposed to purely viral) causes of Covid-19 mortality rates. I really do not think that the Virus is the real enemy, I think it's just a scapegoat and an excuse.
